Margaret Crichton

Margaret started playing ukulele when she was ten! There were forays into other instruments – guitar, harp, accordion, fiddle, whistles and more; stints in bands of various kinds using many of the above-mentioned instruments; leading community choirs. Then about ten years ago she got serious and started teaching ukulele classes at a Neighbourhood House. Currently she has two choirs and seven ukulele classes; takes them to performances at ukulele and folk festivals, Senior’s Festival, shopping centres, markets, folk clubs, libraries, and nursing homes; teaches workshops at festivals and for other groups; leads the Festival Choir at Maldon Folk Festival; does arrangements with something for all levels of expertise and writes parodies! Other than that, her time is her own!
